Animated Videos

THE CHALLENGE

Update our videos so they more closely reflect our service

Amazon pickup & returns (formerly Amazon Hub) has been using the same video for over eight years. When I joined the team, my manager asked me my opinion of the video and if I thought we could update it. Since I have a degree in film I said, yes of course, but I think 1 video is probably nine videos too few.

THE SOLUTION

10 silent videos, endless possibilities.

I knew if we were going to replace the one video, we might as well swing for the fences and produce as many videos as we could afford since we’d use them in more than one place. Need to show someone how to use the locker? We have a video for that. Sending an email? Our videos have you covered. Creating an ad to run on a different website? You guessed it, we’ve got a video for that situation.

THE RESULTS

Our animated characters are attention-getting.

Our animated videos excelled at getting and keeping people’s attention. We ran them in a lot of placements, but the one that resonated the best was as advertisements on Nextdoor. These videos performed higher than the click-through rate benchmark by +4bps and had a completion rate +100bps higher than average Nextdoor videos. This shows us that the audience was engaged with the ad and clicked through at a higher rate. Well done team, high fives all around.
